Season 32 – Episode 10

Title: Redemption House of Cards

After Derrick tries to flirt with Da’Vonne and too much talk about who Jozea & Da’Vonne are going to go against in their Redemption elimination, we finally arrive at Armageddon. Before T.J. can get into it, Jozea interrupts and turns the show into a Ru Paul Drag Race mini-challenge by declaring the library open.

This means, the Redemption House people are now openly airing their grievences. Angela yells at everyone at the house (5 points for verbal attack), Natalie yells at Kam about calling her fake and Kam engages in the verbal fight because she doesn’t want to hear it (10 points each), and Faith calls out Kyle for being a man-whore. T.J. laughs at it all.

Smashley makes no sudden movements, not wanting to see Cara Maria’s face. That’s it for the reading.

It’s finally time for something to happen. Jozea & Da’Vonne choose their Big Brother friends Paulie & Natalie to go against. No surprise there.

The Challenge Final Reckoning – Pyramid Scheme – Ep10

The elimination is called Pyramid Scheme. It’s a giant pyramid with puzzles on each side. The partners will take turns working on the puzzle. Jozea & Da’Vonne elect to go first and work on the puzzle from bottom up in Round 1. Each round is 3 minutes. The teams alternate turns. Jozea & Da’Vonne finish their puzzles, but it’s not over yet. Paulie & Natalie come storming in Round 2, but they have two puzzles to complete and it’s too much. Jozea & Da’Vonne win (25 points each).

Back at the house, Hunter is annoyed because Smashley lied to her about sleeping with Kyle.

The challenge is called Dunking for Dinner. One teammate will be hanging and will bob for a bag as their teammate controls them on the lever. Each bag represents a plate of food (sheep intestines, fish eggs and chicken feet) that will have to be eaten in Round 2. Whoever eats the fewest plates, loses and goes straight into the Redemption House as this is a purge challenge.

In the pre-challenge interview, Hunter says that Smashley should be okay eating sheep intestines and other such weirdness because she’s already had Kyle’s dirty balls in her mouth. Smashley hits Hunter (15 points for physical attack).

The Challenge Final Reckoning – Dunking for Dinner Round 1 – Ep10

During the bobbing, Tony complains that Bananas is heavy, Shane freaks out that Nelson is not in control of the crane as Shane is getting whipped all over the place (5 points for verbal attack), and we see balls as well as bags, but there is no explanation as to what the balls are.

At the end of time, three teams got 11 plates: Zach & Amanda, Tony & Bananas, and Hunter & Smashley. Cara Maria & Marie only got 6 plates, so if all of the other teams eat 7 teams or more, Cara Maria & Marie go to Redemption.

During Round 2, the eating portion, the teammate that had operated the lever in the first round has 15 minutes to chow down. Zach pukes (5 points), Joss pukes (5 points), Kyle pukes (5 points) and Tony, of course, does his thing. Nelson, Hunter and Jozea also cruise along nicely. Cara Maria moves slowly. Zach vomits again (5 more points). Hunter comes through and cleans his plate first. They win (15 points each). Joss vomits again (5 points).

The Challenge Final Reckoning – Dunking for Dinner Round 2 – Ep10

Because the winning part is done, now it’s just a question of who will lose. If any team finishes 7 plates, they are safe, since Cara Maria & Marie max out at 6 plates. This makes everyone else done, except for Kam and Cara Maria. Time is running out and we won’t see who loses until next week because MTV is awful.

Stray observations:

  • I really felt myself checking out while watching this episode. It seems like just as much time is spent talking about alliances and who doesn’t like who as is spent on the actual game. We’re 10 episodes in. We know the alliances at this point.
  • Is that three elimination losses for Paulie & Natalie and they are still alive? This season’s Redemption House is awful.
  • Cara Maria & Marie are all over the midseason trailer, so it doesn’t seem like they are going to lose.
  • Wait, this is the middle of the season? Yikes.
